Our Team!
The Murrow Advertising Club has been one of the most transformative experiences of my time at Washington State University. The club was started by our advisor, Molly Schotzko, whose passion for advertising and student growth has shaped my academic journey from the moment I stepped into COMSTRAT 380 (Advertising Principles and Practices) and COMSTRAT 381 (Advertising Creative Strategy and Execution). Molly believed in me long before she truly knew me—writing a letter of recommendation for me during my sophomore year simply because she recognized the enthusiasm and dedication I brought to our large lecture hall. That early encouragement became a spark that pushed me deeper into the world of advertising.
Being part of the Ad Club allowed me not only to participate, but to build something meaningful from the ground up. I designed the club’s logo, established its branding identity, and helped define our purpose as a community for students passionate about advertising—especially in a college where, until now, there were few spaces specifically designed for advertising-driven students outside of the classroom. While PRSSA has been instrumental in helping many of us grow professionally, the Ad Club gave us something different: the chance to shape a club that reflects our creative ambitions directly.
Through the Ad Club, we’ve created opportunities that didn’t exist before—bringing in inspiring industry speakers, building a supportive community of creatives, and offering hands-on involvement that mirrors real agency experiences. This organization has helped cultivate a space where students can experiment, collaborate, and feel seen in their unique career paths. Contributing to the foundation of this club has been a defining part of my college experience, and I’m proud of the impact it continues to make for future advertising students.
